TORO
Feature film, Germany 2015, 84 minutes
TORO, whose real name is Piotr, came to Germany 10 years ago and works here as an escort. He is saving up his money to return to his native Poland with his best friend Victor and make a fresh start. Victor, however, has long since given up on his dreams. His drug addiction is the only thing that keeps driving him back to the men's market. When three local drug dealers come after Victor, the world of the two outsiders is thrown off balance.
“With black-and-white images, bleak settings and a nervous soundtrack, Toro tells of an odyssey that is reminiscent of the Oscar winner ‘Moonlight’, but is more successful in the closeness of the wonderfully acted characters.”

PRESS

“Unusual, demanding and also unsparing. With a sensational ensemble of actors.
Toro is new German cinema.”
