2005: Nadja, Deniz, and Jeannot, three teenagers, grow up in East Germany as children of guest workers. After serving detention together, a tender friendship develops between them, but then their paths diverge suddenly and tragically. Twenty years later, the three meet again in a fateful encounter. Only Deniz has achieved social mobility. Their reunion raises questions of guilt, origin, and identity.
